ABOUT THE ARTIST

Mary Guntzviller

A graduate of Wayne State University, with a Bachelor degree in Fine Art, Mary has spent her life successfully painting in various mediums. Primarily known for her work in transparent watercolor, her subjects vary from structures, still life or the surrounding scenery, to the bizarre; such as dreams and emotional issues. She also expresses herself through textile and sculpture

Since 1993, Mary has taught adults and children. Her teaching goals are to help others to develop their own visual skills and increase their self-awareness while building their confidence. Whether working with students Plein-air or in a studio setting, her sense of humor and relaxed demeanor generates the kind of critique that frees a student to safely soar with their own creativity and style.
